Over the Rainbow Butterfly Garden is building a legacy where children are surrounded by magic and education is inspired by beauty. We are a non-profit scholarship foundation and we award scholarships every spring to students who need speech and occupational therapies. Our scholarships are awarded every May and they are intended to help bridge the gap that students experience during the summer months when they are not in school and receiving their usual therapies.
These scholarships are also a fun way for students to receive help in a different setting other than a classroom. To date, we have awarded $7,000.00 in scholarships over the past three years. We want to be able to help ensure the educational success of each student that we award a scholarship. Students in grades Kindergarten through twelfth grade are eligible for scholarship monies and encouraged to apply every year.
Over the Rainbow Butterfly Garden is also building an indoor butterfly garden with educational science centers for the Flagstaff community to enjoy at the corner of Highway 89 and Campbell. Visitors will be able to see butterflies in free flight when they visit our facilities and learn about different species of invertebrates, which includes butterflies. Construction is slated to begin at the end of this year with the outdoor portion of our gardens open to the public in the spring of 2015.
