Coconino CASA for Kids, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. The “CASA” in Coconino CASA for Kids stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASA volunteers are community based volunteers, certified by the Arizona Supreme Court, who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children who are involved in the juvenile courts. Coconino CASA for Kids, Inc. helps support the important work provided by CASA volunteers by offering special projects, activities, and funding for the needs of children in our community.
Coconino CASA for Kids, Inc. was founded in 2011 by Becky Lewis, a longtime CASA and community leader, when she saw a need to support the CASA volunteers who work with abused, neglected, and/or abandoned children of Coconino County. Generally, the children that we assist are served by the Coconino County CPS staff and CASA volunteers.
